AJ's Happy Chick Farm

Taking orders now for breeding stock and feeder lambs available in July 2026 Welcome to AJ’s Happy Chick Farm, a family-owned and operated 140-acre hillside farm located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. For us the mission is simple, produce as much of our food and goods as possible, and leave this planet or at least our small part of it better for our children and the next generations. To that effect all aspects of our farming and animal husbandry focus on organic, sustainable, and humane practices. The results are happy, healthy animals and superior products we feel good about and are able to share with others. AJHC is whats known as a mixed farm producing a large variety of goods of high quality but in small quantities. We believe in organic, sustainable methods striving to lessen any negative impact our presence may have on our ecosystem. Presently we have the following products produced on the farm available seasonally: Certified organic maple syrup and maple products Pasture-raised Lamb meat (certified organic available) Canned jams, jellies, sauces, and relishes (all organic ingredients) Finnsheep fleece, fiber and yarn products Chemical free tanned lamb and goat hides Custom slabs and dimensional hardwood lumber from our forest management Just wanted to send along my compliments on the most amazing lamb I have ever eaten! We purchased 34 pounds of lamb from you and it is a smash hit. Meat this delicious simply doesn’t come from the mass market.  You can be rightfully proud of the good work you do, it shows in your product. Looking forward to our next purchase Despite my disinterest in having lamb, my father brought some to our family dinner, as everyone was willing to eat it. There were six adults and three kids who all had some and commented on how tender it was and quite tasty.  I forced myself, with a scrunched-up face, to try a bite, and I was quite surprised to find it quite good. By this time the meat was pretty much gone so I did not get a good size piece to try but I will say I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely try it again from Brian and Susan’s farm. Local and delicious, can’t get any better than that. Susan’s /AJ’s Happy Chick Farm fleece was an absolute joy to work with. The quality of the fiber and care in keeping [her/their] sheep is obvious in the end product. We couldn’t be more pleased with the result coming off of our spinner. Snowy is literally the best dog I've ever known. She's smart and gentle and loving and protective at the right times. She really loves being rubbed and petted, but remains independent and self-sufficient. She is super relaxed when in her own element and has no prey instinct whatsoever, which I love. She can be in the coop with chickens and not even think about eating one. I love talking about my Snowy!
